Caregiver Education & Support

Being a caregiver for a loved one can be a rewarding and sometimes overwhelming experience. You can find yourself both physically and mentally exhausted with very few resources to help guide you. Our team facilitates complimentary monthly workshops that address an array of issues relating to aging, common types of dementia, behavioral issues, healthcare planning, how to create engagement and many other topics related to senior care. Please join us at an upcoming workshop, we would love to meet you!

Our certified trainers make house-calls and are available to provide one-on-one training and coaching in the home setting. Our one-on-one training is a fee-based service and is especially beneficial after a change in condition or a hospitalization. Often, this is when a family member unexpectedly finds themselves as the primary caregiver for a loved one.

During the consultation appointment you can expect our team member to ask open-ended questions as we seek to understand how we are able to best support you and your loved one. During this appointment, we will conduct a safety assessment of the home as well as a comprehensive assessment of the unique care needs of your loved one. These assessments will equip us with the information to provide you with well thought out and individualized training recommendations. It is our training philosophy that when equipped with the proper knowledge and tools, family caregivers can create enriched relationships and deeper bonds with the loved ones that they care for.

There is never a fee for a consultation appointment with one of our certified trainers. Often, our skilled trainers can quickly identify and address training topics during the consultation.

If you are a caregiver that is feeling overwhelmed, or just want to sharpen your skills, please reach out to us. It is our goal to provide you with top notch, hands-on education and support.

See what Anne, Judy and Chareny have to say about our trainers:

"Benita, thank you so much for the training session today. I have been to many sessions, and today's presentation was the most useful I have ever attended. You addressed issues we are concerned about, gave wonderful practical suggestions, and kept it informal and light. You have a wonderful technique for getting people involved and comfortable asking questions."

-Anne Boyle

"Benita Hampton and Texas Senior Advocates have been an incredible information and support resource for everyone attending the year long dementia workshops at Christ United Methodist Church!"

-Judy Segers

"Attending the workshops that Benita and John have presented have been very informative and useful. They are very knowledgeable and provide tremendous insight. On a personal note Benita has been wonderful helping me and my family navigate all the issues and challenges that go along with caring for a loved one with dementia. Her knowledge and support has been invaluable. I would highly recommend both their workshops and their one on one assistance."
